30 days. Procore's help says an archive is available for download only for 30 days, so someone has to download it and file it somewhere safe within that window.
Project Archive is a closeout export. SIINC is a backup that keeps running.
Procore Project Archive (formerly Data Extracts 2.0) packages data from up to 26 Procore tools into a ZIP file when a user asks for one. SIINC backs up your Procore projects hourly as standard into Amazon S3 or Azure Blob Storage your company owns, keeps every record searchable in the Procore Workbench, and can restore records back into Procore.

Procore Project Archive or SIINC: the short answer
Procore Project Archive is a one-off export, and SIINC is a scheduled backup. With Project Archive, a user picks the tools and items, Procore builds a ZIP of mostly PDFs, and the download is available for 30 days. SIINC copies Procore records and file versions into Amazon S3 or Azure Blob Storage you own, run after run, keeps deleted records for the term of your plan, lets you find them later without a Procore login and can restore them into Procore, including into a different account.

Procore Project Archive and SIINC, side by side
What each one does with your project record. Coral marks where the record is at risk.
| Capability | Procore Project Archive | SIINC |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | An export tool inside Procore, for closeout, billing and similar packages | A hosted backup service that copies Procore into your own cloud storage |
| How it runs | On demand. A user opens the tool, chooses tools and items, then clicks Archive | Hourly as standard, or every 4 hours or daily, with only changes copied after the first full run |
| Coverage | 26 project tools, including RFIs, submittals, daily logs, drawings, change orders and invoices | Documents, drawings, RFIs, submittals, correspondence, daily logs, inspections, change orders, invoices, payments and more, selectable by component |
| What you get | A ZIP file. Most items arrive as PDFs, documents and photos in their original format | Original files, with up to the 20 most recent revisions of each document, plus JSON metadata, encrypted, in a documented folder structure in your S3 or Azure Blob storage |
| How long it stays available | The download is available for 30 days | As long as your own retention rules keep it, including after you stop using SIINC |
| Who can open it | The user who created it, plus users with Admin permission on the project Directory | Your team, with role-based access and Microsoft Entra ID sign-in on Professional and Enterprise |
| Records deleted or changed in Procore | Holds what existed when the archive was built | Kept for the term of your plan. Sync runs only mirror deletions if you turn that on |
| Putting records back into Procore | Not a restore tool. Project Archive produces a ZIP file to download | Yes, including into a different Procore account |
| Finding a record years later | Unzip the archive and browse its folders | Search by project, component and record in the Procore Workbench, then download a file or a ZIP |
| Proof of what was captured | An email when the archive is ready to download | Execution history for every run, a checksum for every file, emailed summaries and an exportable client audit log |
When is Procore Project Archive enough?
- You need a one-off closeout or billing package for a single project, and someone will download and file it within 30 days.
- The owner or client wants records handed over as PDFs in a ZIP.
- The project is already inactive. Procore lets you export from both active and inactive projects.
- You only need a few tools from one job, once, and do not need the copy kept up to date.
When do you need SIINC instead of Procore Project Archive?
- The record has to outlast the project, the Procore subscription and the people who ran the job.
- You want copies made on a schedule from the first week of the job, not in a scramble at closeout.
- Records deleted or overwritten in Procore need to be recoverable, by download or by restoring them into Procore.
- IT, risk or legal want the copy in your own AWS or Azure account, under your own retention and immutability rules, including S3 Object Lock or Azure immutable storage.
- You are a subcontractor or consultant and need your side of the record from every project your account is a member of.
- You need to find one RFI or daily log across many projects, years after the jobs closed.
Using Procore Project Archive and SIINC together
Many teams will use both. Run Project Archive at closeout when the owner asks for a PDF package, and let SIINC keep the working record in your own storage from the start of the job. If the 30-day link expires, or the person who built the archive leaves, the SIINC copy is still in your bucket.
Procore Project Archive vs SIINC questions
Procore Project Archive vs SIINC questions
No, it is an export. A user creates each archive on demand and it holds what existed at that moment. A backup runs on a schedule, keeps going as the project changes and keeps what was deleted.
The user who created it, and users with Admin permission on the project-level Directory tool. Procore describes archives as private to the user who created them.
Yes, with SIINC. The Procore Workbench reads backed-up records from your own bucket, so you can search a project, open a record and download its files without a Procore login.
Only if someone asks for Procore's PDF package. SIINC keeps the record itself in your storage, so Project Archive becomes a handover format, not your only copy.

- vs Autodesk Replication Tool and BridgeAutodesk's own tools copy files. SIINC backs up the project and moves it whole.
- vs Oracle Aconex ArchivesAn archive you order from Oracle, or a backup in storage you own.
- vs syncing to SharePoint, Teams or BoxA mirror copies mistakes across. A backup keeps the version from before them.
