Every organisation loses access unless it has bought an archive. Oracle's help says the project closes in not less than 30 days, and archive access depends on the subscription between the project owner and Oracle. Without an archive, documents can be downloaded as a ZIP and mail exported one item at a time.
An Aconex Archive is ordered from Oracle. A SIINC backup lives in your own storage.
When an Oracle Aconex project ends, Oracle closes it in not less than 30 days, and every organisation loses access to its data unless it has bought an archive. Oracle offers three. The Online Archive keeps read-only access inside Aconex, the offline Project Archive is downloaded once at the end, and Scheduled Archive runs on a dedicated PC through the project. SIINC backs up 11 Aconex modules, including documents, mail and workflows, into Amazon S3 or Azure Blob Storage your company owns.

Oracle Aconex Archives or SIINC: the short answer
Oracle Aconex Archives and SIINC both keep Aconex project data after access ends, but an Aconex Archive is an Oracle product you request a quote for, while SIINC is a backup in storage you own. Oracle's offline archives hold registered documents and mail, and the Online Archive keeps read-only access inside Aconex for a contracted period, typically a year. SIINC backs up 11 Aconex modules, including documents, mail, workflows and forms, into your own Amazon S3 or Azure Blob Storage, with a portal to search and download them.

When is Oracle Aconex Archives enough?
- You want Oracle's own record, opened in Oracle's viewer, with document and mail registers ready to hand over.
- You need online, read-only access to every module you used, in the Aconex screens your team knows, and a contracted or annual subscription suits you.
- Documents and mail are all you need, and a single download at the end of the project is enough.
- Your contract asks for an Oracle-issued archive at completion.
When do you need SIINC instead of Oracle Aconex Archives?
- You want the copy in your own AWS or Azure account, under your own retention rules, not in Oracle's cloud or on one PC.
- Workflows, forms, tasks and related items matter, not only documents and mail.
- You are a contractor or consultant on someone else's Aconex project, and you do not want your record to depend on the owner's subscription.
- You also run Procore or Autodesk Forma and want one backup service and one set of storage rules across all three.
- You need execution history and an audit log that show what was captured and when.
- You may need to put records back into Aconex later, including into a different account.
Using Oracle Aconex Archives and SIINC together
Some organisations will still order an Aconex Archive at completion because the contract calls for one. SIINC runs alongside it during the project, so a copy already sits in your storage whether or not the archive is ordered before access closes.

Yes. SIINC backs up the projects your Aconex connection can see, including ones owned by another organisation, subject to your permissions. An admin of the organisation that owns the project approves the SIINC connection.
More construction backup comparisons
- vs Procore Project ArchiveA closeout export someone runs by hand, or a backup that keeps running.
- vs Autodesk Replication Tool and BridgeAutodesk's own tools copy files. SIINC backs up the project and moves it whole.
- vs syncing to SharePoint, Teams or BoxA mirror copies mistakes across. A backup keeps the version from before them.
